Court Programs

Find out what to expect if you a required to appear before the Sidney Municipal Court to answer to a charge which has been filed against you:

  • Review the Initial Court Appearance Information prior to your appearance in Court. This document explains certain statutory and constitutional rights that you have
  • These rights will be read to you in open Court as a group; however, they apply to you individually.
  • If you do not understand any of these rights please bring that to the Judge’s attention when your case is called in the Courtroom.
  • If you have been charged solely with one or more minor misdemeanor moving violations, you have the option of applying for the Traffic Safety Program and if successfully completed, your case will be dismissed and no points will be added to your license.   • If you have a Driving Under Suspension charge you may be required to speak with a Probation Officer regarding this Court’s License Intervention Program. It is a voluntary program that you must either accept or decline to participate.
