About the Board
The City Tree Board was created by the City Council in April 1989 to develop, annually update, and administer a written plan for the following care of trees and shrubs in parks, along streets, and in other public areas:
- Care
- Planting
- Preservation
- Pruning
- Removal
- Replanting
Plan Meetings
The plan is presented to the City Council annually and, upon acceptance and approval, constitutes the official Comprehensive City Tree Plan. Upon request, the Board makes recommendations to the Council on special questions within the scope of its work.
Members
There are five members of the City Tree Board who serve three year terms. Members may be residents of the city; own property, or otherwise have an economic interest in the city; or, have expertise that would benefit the Board. Current members include:

- Michael Jannides
- Ann Asher
The City Council liaison to the City Tree Board is Mike Barhorst.
