[ARCHIVED] Sidney Department of Fire and Emergency Services Responded to a Tank Fire

At 5:43 a.m. on August 15, 2025, the Sidney Department of Fire & Emergency Services responded to a call at 12220 Kirkwood Road (Barrett Paving) for a tank fire. 

Upon arrival crews found a 10,000-gallon liquid asphalt tank with fire coming from a transfer pump located at the bottom of the tank. Crews were able to extinguish the fire using an attack line. Personnel were on scene for approximately an hour to extinguish the fire and cool the tank.

Sidney FD personnel as well as mutual aid from Anna Fire, Lockington Fire, Houston Fire and Port Jefferson Fire were dispatched to the scene. No injuries were reported.
