[ARCHIVED] Shotgun Fired

On, June 26, 2022, at approximately 6:31 p.m.officers were dispatched to the area of Belmont St and East Ave for a male subject discharging a shotgun in the street and near a garage. Dispatch also advised the male subject had also fired at a vehicle.

Officer Jennings made first contact with a Neil Cromes who was holding a shotgun.  Mr. Cromes was ordered to drop the weapon which he did and he was taken into custody.  It was learned he did fire at and struck an occupied vehicle.

Mr. Cromes is being charged with several felony offenses for this incident and is currently incarcerated in the Shelby County Jail.
