For December through April, the collection of yard waste will be done monthly by City of Sidney crews. For March, this collection service will be provided March 14 through March 18. The collection service is repeated each month during the second full week of each month through April.
During monthly collection, all yard waste should be out for pick up on your normal trash pick-up day during the second week of each month. The actual pick-up day may be later in the week as it may take more than one week to complete the collection depending on volume and weather conditions. Residents are advised to place the winter yard waste at least eight feet from the regular trash containers, preferably on the opposite side of the driveway.
From December through April, residents with yard waste should bundle brush, no more than 4 feet long and 2 inches in diameter, into manageable bundles with rope or twine (no wire) not to exceed 60 pounds.
Residents on the trash cart collection service are not required to purchase yard waste tags. Those residents on the low-volume bag service must purchase yard waste collection tags. Yard waste tags can be purchased for $1.97 each (in sets of 5) at the Revenue Collections Office.
