At 12:55 a.m. on April 9, 2023, Sidney firefighters were dispatched to 1703 Letitia Dr. for a structure fire.
Sidney Fire was dispatched on the initial alarm. A box alarm was called to recall off-duty Sidney firefighters, as well as Lockington Fire, Anna Fire, and Piqua Fire.
Upon arrival firefighters had a basement fire that extended into the first floor with all occupants out of the structure. Two occupants were injured and both were transported to Wilson Health ER.
Crews initiated a transitional attack on the first floor and then proceeded to the basement for extinguishment. A primary search was also conducted by the first attack crew. Crews confirmed all occupants of the house had evacuated.
The fire loss to the property is estimated $250,000
During the fire incident multiple other EMS and fire calls were handled within the city limits.
AES and Center Point were called to the scene to secure the utilities. The Salvation Army also responded for cantina services for the emergency personnel on scene.
No injuries were noted to firefighters or law enforcement.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Sidney Fire Department Investigation Unit.
