On Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at approximately 8:00 a.m. Sidney Police Officers were dispatched to the Sidney Food Town located at 1010 Wapakoneta Ave in regards to an active shooter situation. After arrival to the Sidney Food Town law enforcement encountered an armed individual and became involved in a critical incident situation.
Due to it being an officer involved critical incident situation the incident is being investigated and managed by BCI. Any questions relating to the investigation needs to be forwarded to Steve Irwin of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.
