Stabbing Reported

Sidney Police 1820

On February 5, 2021, the Sidney Police Department received a 911 call reporting a stabbing at 630 Fourth Ave. Sidney, Ohio 45365. Upon arrival Officers located Brianna Wilson age 27, a resident of the Fourth Ave. address with a number of stab wounds. Riley Barger, age 20, also a resident of the Fourth Ave. address was taken into custody.

Wilson was transported to Wilson Health by Sidney Fire and Rescue where she was pronounced dead from her injuries.

During the course of the investigation it was learned that Wilson and Barger were in a verbal argument which escalated into a physical altercation that led to Barger stabbing Wilson.

Barger has been charged with Voluntary Manslaughter, a felony of the first degree and incarcerated in the Shelby County Jail.
