WELCOME

Welcome to the City of Sidney’s Wastewater Treatment Plant website.

The City of Sidney’s Wastewater Treatment Plant is a department within the Utilities Division. The purpose of the City of Sidney’s Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) is to remove the contaminates, caused by human activity, from wastewater (sewage). In short, it is the responsibility of the Wastewater Treatment Plant to protect the public health and one of Sidney’s greatest natural assets, the Great Miami River.

Using the links on the left you can access the history of the Wastewater Plant, a description of how the treatment process works, other departments related to water quality operating within the Wastewater Plant, and related links to other water quality organizations.

In the coming months many of the forms used by our customers and other useful information will be added to the web site.

I am very proud of the facility and especially the staff that makes it and all of the various programs so well respected and effective. The staff is highly skilled and dedicated to improving water quality. Currently four staff members serve on either a state or regional committee to benefit the profession.

It is my sincere hope that you enjoy your visit. If you have any questions regarding wastewater treatment or water quality I urge you to contact us. We would be happy to accommodate a tour of the facility.
