CITY OF SIDNEY
YARD WASTE PROGRAM

Bags or cans of grass and bundled brush will be picked up by Allied Waste only if a special "yard waste tag" is attached.

Yard waste tags can be purchased for $0.95 each (in sets of 5) at the City of Sidney's Revenue Collections Office at 201 West Poplar Street. Each yard waste tag may be used only once.

SPECIFICATIONS FOR GRASS AND BRUSH:

Yard waste tags must be affixed to each grass container or brush bundle. Yard waste tags have an adhesive on the back. Affix one tag to each yard waste bag (Illustration #1). If you set your yard waste out in a garbage can, loop the yard waste tag around the handle of the can so it can be easily removed by Allied Waste personnel (Illustration #2). For brush, loop the tag around the rope or twine used to bundle the brush together (Illustration #3). Position the yard waste so the tag is visible from the street.

GRASS CONTAINERS: Grass clippings must be contained in metal or plastic cans, or bio-degradable paper bags. Bio-degradable paper bags may be purchased at the Revenue Collections Office for $0.50 each (in sets of 5). If cans are used, a 35-gallon or smaller can with handles is recommended. Do not overstuff containers as bags or cans that exceed 60 pounds will not be picked up.

BRUSH BUNDLES: Brush must be no more than 4 feet long and 2 inches in diameter. Brush must be tied in manageable bundles with rope or twine (no wire is permitted). Bundles must not exceed 60 pounds.

LOCATION: Set grass and brush at least 8 feet from regular trash containers, preferably on the opposite side of your driveway.

NOTE: THESE CHANGES DO NOT APPLY TO THE FALL LEAF PICKUP PROGRAM.

Please call the Revenue Collections office at 498-8115 with questions.
