Local Parks/Playgrounds (Open at 6:00 a.m./Close at 10:00 p.m.except Tawawa Park, see posted hours) Park Locations/Facilities Baumgardner Basin - 828 Tawawa Drive This is part of the Tawawa Park Complex. The entrance road is to the left just below the Tawawa Park gate. It contains the Lodge soccer fields, the Webster Geib Pavilion, play equipment for handicapped as well as a facility containing restrooms/concession stand. The following amenities are included at this park: ADA accessible play structures, picnic area with shelter, port-a-john (seasonal), sports fields and trails. Berger Park - Alley off of S. Miami Ball field, basketball court, water, playground, shelter, 5 acres Blackson Picnic Grove - 449 Riverside Dr. Shelter, picnic area, river, grills, volleyball courts, port-a-john (seasonal) and trail. The two shelters are reservable. Brown Park - Alley rear of 601 S Ohio Ave Basketball court, water, playground, shelter, one acre Central Park - 102 N. port-a-john, 3 acres. Johnston Park - End of Johnston Dr This park is 9.5 acres and is ADA accessible, river, sports field and trails. Julia Lamb Park - 320 E. North St. Paved walking track and a multi-purpose field. Landrum Soccer Fields - 600 Riverside Dr. Located on the upper level of Flanagan Sports Complex This park is 7.5 acres adn ADA accessible, shelter, grill, sports field and trails. McMillen Park - Highland Dr Ball field, basketball court, playground, shelter, water. 2 acres Orbison Park - 880 E Court (near Water Plant) Ball field, basketball court, playground, shelter, water, grills and 10 acres Plumridge Park- 673 E Hoewischer Rd Basketball court, multi-purpose field, playground, shelter, water, 4 acres Riverbend Park - 1400 Constitution Dr Ball field, basketball court, playground, shelter, water, 14.4 acres Roadside Park - Rt 25A S Playground, shelter, grill, pond for fishing during regular hours. Free permits available for fishing after park closes - call Parks office for arrangements. Need valid fishing license. 7.5 acres Sherman Park - Colonial Dr Ball field, basketball court, playground, shelter, water, 2.21 Acres Tawawa Park - 12 Tawawa Dr Tawawa Civic Park is the largest with 192 acres established as a City Park in 1955. It was formerly under the guidance of the Tawawa Park Board, a private entity incorporated in 1948. The Tawawa Park is adjacent to the Municipal Pool, Flanagan Sports Complex and the Landrum Soccer Fields with entire complex encompassing over 215 acres. Additional acreage is available adjacent to Tawawa and is currently owned by the City. An existing 12.5 designated mile bike route (following City Streets) connects most City Parks.
Stolle Bridge at the old water plant site on Canal Street leads onto this pedestrian walkway. The walkway has been enhanced by the installation of a bridge at the Flanagan Sports Complex. It provides a safe walking area and interconnects the parks at Custenborder, Tawawa and the softball complex. This is also extended from Wells Field to Johnson Park.
