PHASE I OVERVIEW


This portion of the Wapakoneta Ave Reconstruction Project
involves the widening of Wapakoneta Ave from Parkwood Street
north to I-75. The new road will be three lanes with appropriate
curb/gutter, storm drainage and sidewalks.

Time Frame: Year 2011
Project Timeline (Public meeting on 5/10/2011)
Initiate Construction by: May 3, 2011
Complete Construction by: November 18, 2011

TENTATIVE PROJECT TIMING, Phase 1

Date: 2/18/11 Complete plans and submit to the Ohio Department of Transportation for PS&E approval.


Date: 3/28/11 City receives ODOT’s approval to bid the project out. ODOT reserves 4 weeks to authorize project for bidding but usually gets it done in less time.


DATES: 4/1/11 City advertises bids for Wapakoneta Ave Phase I Reconstruction Project. ODOT requires 22 day publicly open bids with three advertisements. We plan on advertising 4/1/11, 4/7/11; 4/14/11.


Date: 4/21/11 Bid Opening


ESTIMATED Date: 4/29/11 Bid Award, ODOT reserves 5 working days to authorize DBE before city awards the contract but usually gets it done in less time. City contract specifications indicate contract execution in 7 working days.


ESTIMATED Date: 5/3/11 Contracts Signed/Contractor issued Notice to Proceed. City contract specification indicate contractor to commence work within 10 days after contract execution.


ESTIMATED Date: 5/10/11 City staff will host a public meeting for residents and business owners. Contractor shall discuss construction sequencing and traffic plan. Public meeting shall occur before construction starts, date may vary some due to contractor schedule.


ESTIMATED Date: 5/13/11 Contractor moves on site and starts construction operations. Contractor will be starting on utilities off the road first, from this point on times are approximate.


ESTIMATED Date: 6/17/11 Set up detours and implement Traffic Plan On Phase 1a, Parkwood to Hoewisher (to be determined by contractor) 75 day max closure by contract.
Date: 8/30/11 Take down detours and implemented Traffic Plan On Phase 1a, Parkwood to Hoewisher (to be determined by contractor) end of 75 day closure by contract.


ESTIMATED Date: 9/14/11 Set up detours and implement Traffic Plan On Phase 1b, Hoewisher to I-75 (to be determined by contractor) 30 day closure by contract.
Date: 10/14/11 Take down detours and implemented Traffic Plan On Phase 1b, Hoewisher to I- 75 (to be determined by contractor) end of 30 day closure by contract.

Date: 11/18/11 Contractor complete construction.
