County Wells
The City of Sidney Water Treatment Plant offers to perform basic analysis on drinking water wells for county residents. Any samples associated with the care of foster children are asked to contact the Sidney-Shelby County Health Department The attached sheet Tests Performed lists the various tests we are certified to perform. There is a minimum charge and results are determined within 24 hours. We do not accept payment for analysis at the treatment plant. You will be billed at a later date.
Samples are only accepted Monday – Wednesday, and must be in the lab prior to 10:00 am. Bacteria samples must be collected in our sample bottle and all sample information must be recorded on the form accompanying the sample bottle. Lost your form? Bacteria Sample Form
Remember to properly sterilize the tap from which you are sampling. Samples from taps not properly sterilized will most assuredly come back as a bad sample. Sample Procedure for the accepted method of tap sterilization when collecting bacteria samples must be followed.
