Streets Department
The Street Department Administration oversees the following divisions within the department:
General Maintenance Division:
Maintain an inventory of City roadways and their present condition.
Prioritize rehabilitation of roadways for the annual asphalt overlay
program.
Provide pothole patching, utility asphalt restoration, street sweeping, crack sealing, leaf pick-up, mosquito abatement, graffiti removal and roadway weed spraying.
Operate and maintain a yard waste compost site, provide leaf mulch and wood chips for City residents during the months of April and October, provide yard waste pick-up for residents during the months of December through April.
Winter Maintenance Division:
Provide snow and ice removal services by means of anti-icing, de-icing
and snow plowing. 
Traffic Division:
Maintain 50 traffic signals and approximately 4000 street and traffic
signs.
Maintain Street lights on the Court Square in Downtown Sidney.
Provide pavement-marking services for City roadways.
Traffic support for special events.
Urban Forestry Division:
Maintain approximately 3000 trees along City roadways.
Street Department is the City liaison to the City Tree Board.
