Johnston Park is 10.36 acres and is located at 900 Johnston Drive.  The land for Johnston Park was purchased by the City of Sidney on December 7th, 1935. The purchase price of $475.00 was paid to; The Citizens Ice, Coal, and Supply Company represented by Val Lee, company Vice President and H. E. Bennett company Secretary. Prior ownership was held by Hamlin B. Blake, and George Vogel, who purchased the same premises from John Carey on April 1st, 1870.

Veteran's Memorial Walkway
End of Johnston Drive

The Stolle Bridge at the old water plant site on Canal Street leads onto this pedestrian Walkway is the site for planting Memorial Trees. It also has been enhanced by the installation of Davis Bridge at the Flanagan Sports Complex. It provides 4.5 miles of safe walking area and interconnects the parks at Custenborder, Tawawa and the Flanagan Sports Complex as well as Wells Fields to Johnston Park.
